Ted Kirkpatrick's first solo release is here! Seven brand new songs of hypnotic plodding stoner metal. A 42 minute wall of sound made possible by vintage
Orange and Sunn amps. "Vocals" courtesy of authentic haunting animal sounds, reflecting Ted's deep respect for the animal realm... Cool 6 panel digipak CD
designed by Jared Meyer.
"I have just completed recording my first solo album called ODE TO A ROADKILL. The title track refers to the sad reality of the millions of animals who die
each year on our roadways. I have been a fan of slow “stoner” music for many years, and this album definitely fits that category, with my own influence to
it, of course. I’m really pleased with the way it turned out and look forward to having you all hear it."
The sound – heavy, thick, slow, plodding… hypnotic. Like the soothing drone of jet engines on a long flight. Hands down the heaviest guitar sounds yet.
The amps - vintage Orange amp – it’s kind of like trying to reign in a runaway horse (not that I have any experience doing that). Always on the brink of
losing control of the signal. So many cool overtones…
The animals – guess you all know how I feel about animals – awesome as always. All animal sounds are the real thing and totally unaltered…
The fans – thanks for your continued support – you’re all awesome.
This album is dedicated to the millions of animals each year who meet an untimely death on our roads…
